The quality of the instrument is good, but as a beginner I needed some lessons before I could coax the sound quality from the instrument. The friendly Eight Tone instructor is patient, flexible and I m able to pick up playing some popular songs quickly after 6 months of lessons.

The Erhu instrument is sturdy made of good quality wood and their Erhu is unique each produces has different beautiful tones which you can choose from. The Erhu is also set up and tune for me when I bought it. Overall good service!

THE CONVENTION ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN ENDANGERED SPECIES OF WILD FAUNA AND FLORA
Eight Tones Music is compliant with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wildlife Fauna and Flora (CITES), which applies to the international sale of our Erhus.
Do tick on the CITES option (just before you add to cart) in order for us to apply the import permit should you require it. Do note that additional time is needed to process the CITES export permit application. Please allow us an additional 10 working days before we ship out your purchase. We do our best to ensure that your chosen instrument is shipped to you speedily and safely.
CITES will be compulsory for all Erhus that are $980 and above.

For a start, you might want to get a better bow, the Li Huai Gang Erhu Basic Bow is a popular choice for many musicians. For strings we recommend the Thomastik Erhu Strings or the Fang Fang Red Strings, Thomastik Erhu Strings are slightly pricier but these strings are premium German Roslau Strings with better strings tension. For Rosin, we recommend the Pirastro Oliv-Evah Rosin or the Andrea Solo Rosin.
