P. Yeung –
The sandalwood used in this erhu is high grade and gives it weight and stability when playing. The D string has a warm but focused tone while the A has a warm and sweeter tone. It plays smoothly and remains loud into the upper registers. The responsiveness is crisp which helps in faster passages. Overall this is an outstanding erhu made of high end materials with impeccable craftsmanship that plays very well.
I also found the buying experience at Eight Tones to be very personalized and excellent from start to finish. This included a demo video upon request as well as direct text communication for any questions. Thanks to Daryl and Nicky for all the help!
